I have added washes of Indigo, Transparent Red Oxide and Yellow Ochre using water as the medium. At this stage it is looking a bit like a rocky waterhole but this will most likely change as more washes and marks are added. There is a pesky little kangaroo that has appeared uninvited! He will probably vanish as the work progresses.

As promised this is a photo of the first step for my current painting - a bit difficult to appreciate because it is Atelier white gesso on a sheet of white watercolour paper.
Although it looks BLUE I can assure you it is WHITE!
Hopefully the pictures will improve as more washes are added.
Can you see that the gesso has been applied unevenly but not roughly?
I don't know what the painting will be yet but it will evolve gradually.
The location is Tractor Beach on the Eyre Peninsula and we came across this fabulous spot one late afternoon while searching for a campsite for the night. I am looking forward to painting this soon.

This is one of my current paintings “Resolution”. I have been working on it on and off for many months and feel that it is near completion. Unfortunately I don’t have images of its progress but will post the completed work.

Resolution refers to decisions made, problems solved and emotions examined and explained.

I really like this painting and enjoyed the painting process – perhaps the reason that it took so long! There are many, many layers, subtle marks and symbols: the palette is very limited and quite subdued. The colours used are indigo, white and burnt umber; very sombre to match the mood of the painting.
